Highlights of the history of Aeromatic-Fielder

For fifty years, GEA Pharma Systems - Aeromatic-Fielder has supplied advanced solids processing plants for blending, granulating, drying, pelletizing and coating to the pharmaceutical industry. This includes small capacity systems designed for R&D as well as industrial size plants for batch production of pharmaceutical compounds under cGMP conditions.

Aeromatic-Fielder™

  • 2009 (December) - 1st FlexStream™ is to be exhibited in Asia at P-MEC India - 01-03 December 2009 - FlexStream locally built in India.
  • 2009 (May) - first NEW FlexStream™ is shown at Achema 2009
  • 2008 (April) - Launch of the NEW 'FlexStream™' a Multi-Purpose Processor from GEA Pharma Systems / Aeromatic-Fielder™ that uses proven fluid bed technology to achieve fluid bed granulation, drying and pellet coating (or tablet coating) in ONE processor.
  • 2008 (January) - Launch of the NEW 'Pharma Division' of GEA - GEA Pharma Systems.
  • 2007 (autumn) - Launch of the NEW 'PharmaConnect®' - ‘plug and play’ approach enables a number of diverse process modules from GEA Pharma companies to be docked to ONE control module.
  • 2005 - Launch of the PMA-Advanced™ - Critically the process geometry of the PMA-Advanced™ is identical to the previous PMA model. Modifications to the design have been made solely to benefit the user and owner in terms of ease-of-use, cleanability, process analysis and installation. By uniting these new benefits with the proven PMA process technology, Aeromatic-Fielder is providing the logical solution for your Granulation needs.
  • 2002 - Opening of the GPS Technology Centre at Aeromatic-Fielder in Bubendorf, Switzerland
  • 2000 - Launch of the standard SIROCCO™ Fluid Bed range
  • 1999 - Acquisition of the former GEI companies (Gallay, Buck, Courtoy, Collette) and GEA Pharma Systems (GPS) was formed as a business unit under the GEA Process Engineering Division.
  • 1998 - Launch of the Laboratory scale MP-MICRO™, the smallest Fluid Bed Processor in the world.
  • 1996 - Launch of the patented PRECISION COATER™.
  • 1995 - Merger of Niro-Aeromatic and Niro-Fielder to Aeromatic-Fielder
  • 1994 - Launch of Fluid beds with the patented Overlap GILLPLATE™ and side discharge
  • 1994 - Launch of new 'full containment' Spectrum Processor specifically designed for CIP meeting the latest GMP standards.
  • 1993 - Niro Group acquired by the German GEA Group.
  • 1993 - NICA™ Pelletization technology added to the product portfolio.
  • 1992 - Complete Integrated process plant with 'Fielder' High Shear Granulation Technology and 'Aeromatic' Fluid Bed Technology.

  • 1987 - Development of Combined Granulation/Microwave Vacuum dryers
  • 1980 - Development of Vacuum and Microwave drying equipment
  • 1968 - Founding of Fielder Ltd in Southampton (UK)

  • 1991 - Introduction of full CIP (Clean-in-place) fluid bed processor
  • 1989 - Aeromatic acquired by Niro A/S
  • 1968 - Introduction of fluid bed coating equipment
  • 1964 - Development of fluid bed granulation equipment
  • 1959 - Founding of 'Aeromatic AG', in Muttenz (CH)
